The second tip in using dog house plans is to consider the size of your dogs and the breed of the dogs. Some breeds of dogs may seem quite small when they are puppies but in fact grow to very large sizes as adult dogs. When you are building a house for such dogs, you can consult with experts such as the local vet nary doctor to give you an estimated average size of your dog as an adult. Building a dog house based on the current size may prove to be frustrating and discouraging later on. This is because the dig may outgrow its house necessitating the house to be brought down and a new one built increasing the costs even further. For other dogs also, they do not grow larger when they are adults but remain the size of small puppies. Building large houses for these dogs only wastes space and often makes them lonely.
My two have their own crates in our laundry room where they sleep at night and where we can put them if we are going out. It is also very handy to be able to confine them if they are becoming nuisance, such as at dinner time or when we are entertaining. No matter which type of enclosure you select, keep in mind that all dogs like to have that feeling of being secure in a den type atmosphere, in other words, they like being cozy. It's a good idea to have their food and water available in the same area as their dog house. In this way everything is confined and your dog will know it's limits. You can also have all their toys, special blankets and other dog related items right there as well. Since my dogs are actually in a room, I can use a child gate across the opening to lock them in, but they still have that open feeling. This is very handy when I go out or want to put them in ”time out” for being bad.
If you have a dog that stays outside, even for a few minutes, you need to get a dog house for your pet. Small dogs are especially vulnerable to the weather, so make sure you pamper your pooches properly by buying appropriate dog houses using the following tips: Just like housing for humans, dog houses range from basic to designer, with the respective price tags attached. Again, like housing for humans, you need to take into account the basic needs of the occupant, your dog. Your dog's size and coat will help you on your search for prime pup real estate.
