Have a plan: As it is true for most things, don't even begin to think about how to build a dog house without a plan. Start with the base in tune with the foundations you have approximated for the dog size (make allowances and build a much bigger dog house than what you expect your dog to grow up to). Similarly, construct or prepare panels for the four edges and make sure that the insides of the panels (the interiors of the kennel) are smooth. Also think of a roof with appropriate vents for air passage.
Wood is probably the most durable material for dog houses because of its resistant to weather and elements so it can stand for a longer time outside the house. Particularly, Cedar wood is soft kind of wood that offers convenience in the construction process. It is also resistant to rot and insects so you will be assured that your dogs will be safe in their house. Dog houses help maintain the cleanliness of your pet as they don't need to sleep directly in the ground. However, you still need to clean the house of your pet to properly maintain the hygiene of your dog and to also give them a clean ambiance. Once or twice a week, sweep the inside of the house to get rid of the furs and other dirt. You may also change the beddings or pillows of the dog. Regarding with this, dog house units are made with detachable roof for easy cleaning. Giving your dogs their own place and maintaining its cleanliness will make the pets happy and will keep them healthy. So don't hesitate to purchase or create insulated dog houses for a better and peaceful sleep of your beloved pets.
Secondly, if your doggy's house has windows the likelihood of them staying clean is almost none. Your dog's nose will be all over the window and it will be dirty in no time flat, meaning, he will no longer have a window to look out. Now for the most important reasons dog homes do not have windows. They simply do not do as good of a job keeping heat in as a solid insulated wall. Likewise, during the summer they let too much heat in and the house will no longer stay as cool as you would like. There are some things you can do to help this, particularly the placement of the dog house in your yard. You can place it near a fence, near your house, or under a large tree. This too will help.
